Planning a trip to Goa? Wondering where to stay with a minimum budget? Yes! The struggle is real when it comes to finding the perfect place to stay while you visit this little paradise and finding a hotel or homestay for your budget during the time of season is a little (May be a lot!) difficult, but there are amazing Hostels,Homestays and Hotels that offer you a great deal of stay for a long weekend or for backpackers. Hostels in Goa are pretty good and pocket friendly for solo travelers and it’s always an experience to meet new people.
” Goa has to be experienced to know how it really feels”
Goa has a lot to offer, from the tropical beaches , parties, museums ,forts, those amazing cheap flea markets and the list goes on.. One never really gets bored of this place!! It is one place that everyone must visit while you are in India.
“Goa is a destination where the hippies go”.Backpackers from all over the world visit this place because of its welcoming environment and it’s a great place for solo travelers as you get to meet new people and make new memories. Well! I just believe ” Goa has to be experienced to know how it really feels” because, one can really explain how beautiful and fun Goa can be.
Few tips for you before visiting Goa to make it a memorable one :
DO’s :
- Always find a place/Hostel to stay close to the beach.
(This way you don’t have to travel a lot after the parties, drinking & blah! blah!)
- First set your budget for the stay/ Hostel.
( If you have been to Goa before you probably already know why I’m suggesting you this. No matter what your budget is once you reach here, you are going to splurge on alcohol, parties, food and what not! So, to be on the safer side first you book your stay. If you are a backpacker I need not say, it is best you book your stay for the entire number of days you are planning to stay.)
DON’TS :
- Don’t chose a place that is too mainstream.
( You don’t want to end up in a crowded place, Do you? I understand it is fun and parties without a crowd is boring but keep in mind that places like these are usually nasty and too overwhelming. Sometimes it can turn into a nightmare when you are stuck in a crowd. Instead chose a subtle place with good number of people to have fun. There are many places that are less known which is perfect for solo travelers and backpackers.)
All these are my trial and error suggestions after my trip to Goa several times. So, There it is the budget hostels. In India, Hostels are a relatively new concept so their price are not cheap compared to the rest of the world. As a solo traveler budget hostels are good, but when you come as a couple or in a group I would suggest you to check out for guest houses / home stay as the price of a 2 single bed in a dormitory is equal to staying in a guest house but if you’re looking to meet new people and have fun Hostels are the best way to do so.
