The Interactive Music Museum plans to teach the guest on different types of Indian music crosswise over themes from conventional to contemporary, with a focus on being experiential and not just being a presentation of music instruments.
The Indian Music Experience (IME) is an activity of the Indian Music Experience Trust, a non-benefit open charitable association devoted to the advancement of culture. While trying to make music increasingly interactive and available, the Indian Music Experience is planned on the standards of “see, hear, contact and find”. Here you can accomplish more than simply ‘tune in’ to music. You can contact the instruments, make and explore different avenues regarding sound, and basically experience music in something beyond one way.

The IME is supported by the Brigade Group. In the year 2008, a gathering of the residents of Brigade Millennium, headed by PV Maiya and the Brigade Group met up to frame the Brigade Millennium Welfare Trust (later renamed as the Indian Music Experience Trust) and a 2 acre of land community plot was apportioned by the BDA to the trust to promote social and cultural activties.
The trust directed surveys in the area and had discussions with a few leaders, artistes and social pioneers in India, and a vast greater part demonstrated a requirement for and an enthusiasm for music-related activities.

MR Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director of the Brigade Group, visited the Interactive Music Museum in Seattle, US, which is one of the premier intelligent music museums around the world. In this manner, setting up a comparative world-class interactive music museum committed to Indian music was created in Bengaluru.
The Interactive Music Museum comprises of three sections –
- An interactive multimedia display territory with eight topical exhibitions, an instruments display, three mini theaters and a few touchscreen-based inter actives.
- A sound garden with 10 ‘playable’ melodic figures, for example, xylophones, wind chimes and gongs
- A learning centre with five classrooms, a workshop centre and a library space

Also, it houses an amphitheater, gift store and bistro.
The building was finished in 2013 and introduced by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Learning Center wing of the IME was finished in August of 2015, and grants top notch music instruction in different orders. The Sound Garden was opened in July 2017 and has turned into a much-visited goal for school gatherings and music lovers. The hi-tech displays of the IME are right now being introduced.
