It is important that we maintain a healthy mind as much as a healthy body, improving yourself everyday with these small hacks can change your life in a bigger level.
At the end of the day, everything we do is to be happy and a healthy mind is always a happy mind. These hacks are proved scientifically which will help you keep your mind and your brain stress free.
1. A Song that reduces anxiety by 65% :
If you are a music lover this is an effortless way of reducing stress and this is a lot helpful for people who are stressed with work or any other issues. Sound therapists of Mindlab International collaborated with Marconi Union and created this amazing sound track called Weightless. The song is designed to reduce anxiety by mixing harmonies, bass lines and rhythms in a unique manner.
According to Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson, this song induces a great state of relaxation compared to any other music. It significantly lowers stress hormone cortisol, which lowers psychological resting states by 35% and reduced anxiety by 65%. There is a 10 hour version as well.
2. Magnetic brain stimulation alters negative emotion perception :
A study published in Biological Psychiatry: Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging reports that processing of negative emotion can be strengthened or weakened by tuning the excitability of the right frontal part of the brain.
In depression, processing of emotion is disrupted in the frontal region of both the left and right brain hemispheres. The disruptions causes the root of increased negative emotion and diminished positive emotion causing depression. To treat this, inhibitory magnetic stimulation is used to reducing excitability of the right dlPFC (dorsolateral prefrontal cortices ) which is shown to have antidepressant effects. It reduces a person’s response to altered negative perception.
As study editor Cameron Carter, M.D. said, “This study confirms that modulating the frontal region of the brain, in the right hemisphere, directly effects the regulation of processing of emotional information in the brain in a ‘top-down’ manner.”
3. Low levels of alcohol consumption are good for the brain :
According to a study of the University of Rochester Medical Center, low levels of alcohol consumption tamp down inflammation and help the brain to clear away toxins, including those associated with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. A couple glasses of wine will not only help you clear your mind, it actually cleans your mind as well.
As Maiken Nedergaard, lead author of the study, said, “Prolonged intake of excessive amounts of ethanol is known to have adverse effects on the central nervous system. However, in this study we have shown for the first time that low doses of alcohol are potentially beneficial to brain health, namely it improves the brain’s ability to remove waste.”
4. Keeping connected with the nature helps your mind stress free :
According to a study conducted at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, city dwellers are at a higher risk of mental illness due to various reasons like office, work, pollution and when the city dwellers who live close to a forest are more likely to show indications of a physiologically healthy amygdala ( a central nucleus of the brain which handles stress processing and reactions to danger) structure and are therefore better able to cope with stress than other city dwellers.
Nature is the best medicine one could seek for. The closer we get to natures simple as even a walk in the park will make a huge difference in your mental health.
By 2050, almost 70 percent of the world population is expected to be living in cities. These results could therefore be very important for urban planning. In the near future, however, the observed association between the brain and closeness to forests would need to be confirmed in further studies and other cities, stated Ulman Lindenberger, Director of the Center for Lifespan Psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development.
5. Self-defeating humor exhibit greater levels of psychological well-being :
Do you laugh at yourself most of the time? Well! Apparently it is a good thing and it helps your brain in various ways. According to a study completed by the University of Grenada Mind, Brain and Behaviour Research Centre, those who frequently use Self-defeating humor promotes psychological well-being. Few of the previous researches state that, self-defeating humor is exclusively associated with negative psychological effects.
Jorge Torres Marín, one of the researchers behind this groundbreaking UGR project, explains: “In particular, we have observed that a greater tendency to employ self-defeating humour is indicative of high scores in psychological well-being dimensions such as happiness and, to a lesser extent, sociability.”
6. Curcumin Improves Memory and Mood :
A substance found in turmeric powder, which gives the food a bright color. According to a study out of UCLA, It is very good for the brain as it improves memory and mood in people with mild, age-related memory loss.

As Dr. Gary Small, the study’s first author, said, “Exactly how curcumin exerts its effects is not certain, but it may be due to its ability to reduce brain inflammation, which has been linked to both Alzheimer’s disease and major depression.”
